Horizont 2026/12: Kölcsönhatás – Csád és a szudáni polgárháború

The conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has taken on geopolitical significance due to the intervention of external powers, while triggering a severe humanitarian crisis in East Africa. Although officially neutral, Chad in practice plays an important mediating role between the RSF and its main backer, the United Arab Emirates, which further increases the country’s security and political exposure. The analysis examines Chad’s internal problems—extreme poverty, ethnic tensions, the presence of armed groups, and political repression—as well as how the war in Sudan is exacerbating existing problems through the refugee crisis, border clashes, and growing instability. Unless the Chadian leadership implements a major policy shift, N’Djamena can only emerge from the conflict as a loser.
