Máté Gergely Balogh

Máté Gergely Balogh earned a degree in English from the University of Debrecen, in international relations from Corvinus University Budapest, and and obtained an MA in history at the Central European University. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the University of Debrecen in 2022, its title is The United States of America through the Eyes of the Hungarian State Security, 1956-1989. Máté Gergely Balogh has been teaching at the University of Debrecen as an assistant lecturer, he is a guest researcher at the John Lukacs Institute of the National University of Public Service, and since the Fall of 2025, senior researcher at the Migration Research Institute. His research topics include American history and politics after 1945, migration to the United States, Hungarian-American relations, and contemporary American politics.
