Panel Discussion at MCC Budapest in cooperation with Danube Institute

Venue: MCC Scruton, 3-7 Tas vezér Street, Budapest

The Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) in Budapest in cooperation with the Danube Institute will host a high-level panel discussion moderated by Viktor Marsai, Executive Director of the Migration Research Institute. The panel will bring together Professor David Betz, an authority on modern warfare and strategy; Rod Dreher, prominent cultural critic and author; and Dr. Ralph Schoellhammer, political scientist and commentator on European and transatlantic affairs. Together, they will examine whether rising polarization, cultural fragmentation, and institutional distrust in Western democracies could foreshadow large-scale internal conflict — or whether these challenges open pathways for renewal. Drawing on historical lessons, political analysis, and cultural insights, the panel will address one of the most urgent questions facing the West today.

Panelists:

David Betz, Professor, King’s College London

Ralph Gert Schöllhammer, Head of MCC Center Applied History and IR Theory

Rod Dreher, Director of Network Project for the Danube Institute

Viktor Marsai, Executive Director, Migration Research Institute
