The Western Balkans is a region of strategic importance in Southeastern Europe and represents a key focus area within the European Union’s neighborhood policy and enlargement process. Due to its geographical location, it plays a pivotal role in shaping migration routes, particularly concerning irregular migration and its security implications that are felt across Europe. Efforts toward Schengen accession and border security reforms create new opportunities for the countries of the Western Balkans, while also presenting them with significant challenges.
The event aims to bring together domestic and international experts to share their experiences on emerging migration trends, the challenges of border management, and the issues surrounding Schengen integration. The event serves as a platform for showcasing regional cooperation and innovative solutions while providing the audience with a comprehensive overview of migration dynamics and the impact of Schengen accession.

A Nyugat-Balkán átalakuló trendjei: fókuszban az irreguláris migráció
A Nyugat-Balkán stratégiai jelentőségű régió Európa délkeleti részén, az Európai Unió szomszédságpolitikájának és bővítési folyamatának egyik fókuszterülete. Földrajzi elhelyezkedéséből adódóan kulcsszereplő a migrációs útvonalak alakulásában, különös tekintettel az irreguláris migrációra és az ebből fakadó, Európa-szerte érzékelhető biztonságpolitikai következményekre. A schengeni csatlakozási törekvések és a határbiztonsági reformok új lehetőségeket teremtenek a Nyugat-Balkán országai számára, miközben kihívások elé állítják azokat. A rendezvény célja, hogy a téma hazai és külföldi szakértői megosszák tapasztalataikat az új migrációs tendenciák, a határigazgatás kihívásai és a schengeni integráció kérdéseiben. Az esemény fórumot biztosít a regionális együttműködés és innovatív megoldások bemutatására, a közönség pedig átfogó képet kaphat a migrációs dinamika alakulásáról és a schengeni csatlakozás hatásairól.
