During his second term, Donald Trump has placed strong emphasis on deportation agreements with third countries. Since early 2025, the U.S. government held talks with nearly 50 countries regarding their willingness to take in or accept deported migrants. However, only a fraction of these negotiations have led to actual cooperation—whether formal or informal. Washington has typically sought to persuade countries to cooperate by applying economic pressure, offering financial incentives, holding out the prospect of diplomatic support, or promising tariff concessions. The analysis is a survey of the key countries by continent that cooperate with the United States on migration issues.
