One of Donald Trump’s key 2024 campaign promises was to take decisive action against irregular immigration. Since taking office, he has implemented a number of measures in this regard, many of them within days of his inauguration. Fortified border security, increased enforcement of immigration rules, rising numbers of deportations, and a tightening of the refugee protection system have all contributed to a significant reduction in irregular migration at the southern border of the United States.
