Most analyses about the Somali community in the U.S. present the current situation as a homogenous group facing deportation by immigration enforcement. In fact, Somalis are far from united: the diasporas are divided along the clan system that in many cases serves as a solid base for political manipulation and inciting hatred between Somali groups.
